"And God opened her (Hagar's) eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water,
and gave the lad drink."
Genesis 21:19
Years of violence in the Middle East, including six years of Civil War in Syria and the forcible take over of large areas of Syria and Iraq by Radical Muslim groups such as ISIS has left over sixteen million people displaced from their homes, and hundreds of thousands dead.
Families have been torn apart; the men killed and the women sold into slavery. Children have been traumatized, with girls as young as nine taken as brides for fighters, and young boys captured and trained as suicide fighters.
Out of this chaos arise many opportunities to present the Love of Jesus to the Muslims who have, in the past, been difficult to reach, but now having lost everything and being dissillusioned with Islam, are searching for answers in a world that has none.
We feel that in this situation, conservative Anabaptist people have a unique opportunity to bring a
Gospel of Peace and Hope.
Ishamel is again cast out of his land, and thirsting for the Water of Life. Would God have us to bring him that Living Water?
"And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." Matthew 25:40
